What we collect
Account information: your email address, the name you enter, and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider — we never see your password).
Financial entries you create: transactions, accounts, budgets, savings goals, debts, bills, and net-worth items, along with settings like your currency, language, and theme. These are numbers and labels you type in yourself; Coinly does not connect to your bank.
Support messages: if you contact us through the support form, we receive the name, email, and message you submit.
What we do NOT collect
We do not connect to your bank or card accounts, we do not collect your payment card details (payments are handled entirely by Stripe), and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers. There are no advertising trackers in the app.
How your data is used
Your data is used solely to run the app for you: showing your dashboard, computing totals, sending account emails (signup confirmation, password reset), and processing your subscription if you upgrade to Pro.
Household sharing
If you join or create a shared household, the data placed in that household (shared transactions, budgets, accounts, goals, and bills) is visible to the other members of that household. Your personal-scope data stays private to you.
Service providers
Coinly runs on a small set of service providers, each receiving only what it needs: Supabase (database and sign-in; stores your account and financial entries), Stripe (Pro subscription billing; your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers), Brevo (sends account and support emails), and Vercel (hosting and anonymous, cookie-free usage analytics).
Daily currency exchange rates are fetched from a public rates service (open.er-api.com); no personal data is sent with those requests.
Cookies
Coinly uses only essential cookies — the session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why you do not see a cookie banner.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Security → Delete account; this permanently deletes your profile and all financial entries (including households you own). If you cancel Pro, your data is kept — features beyond the free plan simply lock until you re-subscribe.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Data access is protected by row-level security, so each account can only read its own rows (or rows shared with its household). Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
Your rights
You can view and edit everything you have entered directly in the app, export your transactions (Excel/CSV), and delete your account and data entirely on your own. For anything else — a copy of your data, a correction, or a question — contact us via the support page and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, note it in the app. Continued use of Coinly after a change means you accept the updated policy.
